DIY Paper Peonies - Wedding DIY

Hello friends!

paper flowers, pennies, peony, DIY, tutorials, tutorial. wedding, marriage, sequinedlife, crepe paper flowers, bottles, DIY wedding, garland,

Today I'm going to teach you how to make paper peonies just like the ones featured on the cake table in the image above! (Those are mine! Hooray!) Just a heads up, this is one of my first every DIY's, so bear with me. I'm much better at teaching in person than I am at writing out all of these steps. Also, the photos were taken with my iPhone, because holding a heavy DSLR Nikon with one hand and trying to take photos of your other hand is a difficult feat.

Here's what you're going to need for your paper peonies.

Heavy Duty Crepe Paper - I purchased mine from Paper Mart - http://www.papermart.com/premium-colored-crepe-paper/id=36547#36547

Top Of The Class

Hey friends!

I was debating if I should post this or not considering the weather is warming up, and it's a rather cool weather outfit. BUUUUUUT, I realized I really should keep updating my blog with my outfits since it is indeed a fashion blog. (Who would have thought those two would connect? ;)

This is the final post of photos from Alison Su, and I'm sad to see this "era" come to an end. I guess it just means I need to hop on a plane to Denver so we can meet up again. As I have mentioned before, but I will mention it again, thank you Alison! The photos are gorgeous!

Doesn't this outfit look very "top of the class?" I think of Elle Woods when she went to Harvard when  I wear this. A classic boiled wool jacket, paired with a pretty but conservative blouse. Perhaps the fact that I'm sitting on a desk and in front of a chalk board contributes to the aesthetic.

You could easily dress this up with a pencil skirt or a pair of dress pants, or dress it down with a pair of ripped up blue jeans.

Spot This

If you have been paying attention to Instagram lately, you may notice some of your favorite fashion bloggers have links in their outfit photos that say "like to know it" in their captions.
This means if you sign up for the website, you will receive an email every time you like a photo on Insta with the link with the outfit details.

The idea is a great one, however sometimes I like the photos simply because it's a great photo, not because I want to get all the details sent to my inbox. Suddenly my inbox is overflowing with emails with outfits that I *big surprise* cannot afford, and I get really sad because I'm a college student and cannot purchase said cute outfit. PLUS, I wasn't even interested in the outfit in the first place... (But now I am, because we always want what we can't have...)

Well, it's time to meet the older, cooler sister... Spot This. <----- Click here!

February Bootay Bag!

Hey friends!

It took me a long time to decide if I should post this or not. I didn't want to post anything that would encourage creeps to start stalking my blog, but I think I am doing this in a tasteful enough way that I'm comfortable with posting! I mean hey, everyone wears underwear (well, hopefully everyone) so I thought it was natural enough to post about it!
I want to introduce my newest obsession. Bootay Bag. (This is not a paid post, I simply adore their product and wanted to tell you about them!)

Bootay Bag, Undies, Underwear, skivvies, lace, soft, cotton, bootaybag, sequin and chic, fashion blogger, college fashion blogger, hello babe I'm here, hello babe, furry background, aesthetic, white fur background, monthly shipment, monthly subscription,

Have you ever stared at your underwear drawer and thought "Geez, when's the last time I actually purchased new underwear?" Well I was at that point when I started coming across the images of their adorable bags all over Instagram.

Sunnies In San Diego

The days here in Wisconsin, although getting longer, are still pretty cloudy and dreary. It is making me miss the warm sun on my skin in San Diego from last month! The weather has been a little bit warmer, but with that comes the icky brown snow piles that are covered in dirt and are slowly melting away. Spring, come sooner so the snow can go away too!

I was able to do a really fun photoshoot with Katherine from Katherine Rose Photography while visiting, and I thought the fun, cheery photos might just be the perfect pick me up on these cloudy days!

Settle in for a really long post, Katie snapped SO many great photos I couldn't narrow it down.

Did I Say Yes To The Dress?

Hello friends!

I figured it was about time that I shared photos from going wedding dress shopping last month!
I went to three different stores, Nordstrom, J Crew, and BHLDN.
I fell in love with a dress at every single place, and because of that I still haven't made a choice on which one I'm going with yet.  - p.s. I'm only sharing photos of dresses I'm 100% not going with, that way if Cristian happens to be snooping he won't see anything! But they are all dresses that I thought were beautiful! - So to answer the question in the post title, no I have not officially said yes to the dress. - If you're wondering why the photos aren't super crisp, it's because they're off an iPhone instead of my Nikon.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One of the first dresses I tried on was this gorgeous Rosa Clara dress, it was so pretty, and I loved the back detail as well as the pockets! The problem is, I'm not even 5'1, so the dress overwhelmed me a lot. The fabric was too heavy for a June wedding as well. Oh to be 5'8. I cannot sing the praises of the Nordstrom Bridal Suite enough, the gal who helped me out was awesome, and was able to get me out of my comfort zone and into a dress I adored.

Rambles About The Grammy Outfits

So it's not the Oscars, but it IS the Grammys... Which means more outlandish outfits, and more witty commentary from yours truly.

Please enjoy.
